Alicia Cooper, Miss Clark County’s Outstanding Teen, had the honor & privilege of being the emcee for the Vancouver Relay for Life ‘Miss’ter Relay for Life pageant at Columbia River High School. Twelve brave men got in touch with their feminine side to raise additional money for the CURE! Congratulations to “Mattie Minaj” the 2011 MissTer Relay for Life winner (the only participant to actually wear heels!) & “Kevina” who took the 2011 MissTer Congeniality 2011 title (in a stunning yellow gown).
A special thanks to the Vancouver Relay for Life staff and volunteers, the MissTer Relay for Life 2011 contestants, Jennifer Melton & Kristina Ewing, and Riverview Community Bank for allowing MCCSO to the opportunity to support and participate in such a wonderful event! This year, 151 Teams and 1332 participants joined the annual 24-hour event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. THANK YOU for the work you do to promote community cancer awareness!
*More about Relay for Life**
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
