Katie Parsons, Miss Clark County 2011, & Alicia Cooper, Miss Clark County’s Outstanding Teen 2011, supported IHOP & CMN on National Pancake Day!  Alicia & Katie had the opportunity to visit EVERY IHOP in Clark County and serve FREE pancakes to our community!  While serving pancakes, our titleholders were able to promote Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals!  Throughout the night the girls competed to collect the MOST money for CMN… and the winner wasCMN!!

Walk & Knock for the Homeless

By DeanS · Comments Comments Off

La Center Walk & Knock for the Homeless

Katie Parson, Miss Clark County 2011, made her first official appearance to support the Council for the Homeless in Clark County.  Katie was accompanied by Sarah Wilson, Miss Clark County- 1st Runner-Up, and Jenny Reynolds, Miss Clark County’s Outstanding Teen- 1st Runner-Up.  Together they collected many coats and blankets for the less fortunate in our community.

A special thank you to the La Center community,  Linda Tracy, Cindy Donowitz, Jeff Larson, Melissa Sutton, & Serenity Madrone– without your support, this event would not have been possible!

A message from Serenity Madrone
Council for the Homeless, Emergency Shelter Clearinghouse Coordinator:

Thank you again for encouraging the Miss Clark County contestants to advocate for those without homes in our community. The amount of coats and blankets you collected last weekend during the La Center ‘walk and knock’ says a great deal about the commitment of La Center residents to serving their neighbors. Thank you for organizing this outreach event, and for spreading the word about the need that exists while offering a way for people to contribute.

And to all the contestants who worked together on the walk and knock—thank you! It was a pleasure coming to present to your group, and working with you on this important cause.
