Princess Program
Mentoring Clark County’s Young Ladies to Become Leaders of Tomorrow!
NOTE: The Princess Program is NOT a Pageant.
The Miss Clark County Princess Program is a mentoring program that allows each princess participant to be exposed to the magical world of the Miss America system before she is of competition age. It is our desire to provide fun opportunities to allow the princesses to engage with young ladies participating in the Miss Clark County and Miss Clark County’s Outstanding Teen program to develop stage presence, manners, etiquette, poise, and confidence. These life tools will enable our princesses to make good first impressions as they interact with those in their schools and communities. The Princesses will be introduced on-stage during the pageant. Each princess participating in our program receives a tiara as each young girl truly is a PRINCESS!
What ages are the Princesses?
Your daughter must be between the ages of 6 to 12.
Community Service and Positive Thinking
The mission of the Princess Program is to nurture girls in their pre-teen years to be good citizens, understand the benefits of serving the community, the importance of being gracious, poised and responsible. These skills will serve them though the rest of their education and beyond.
Serving the Community
The Princesses are encouraged to join their mentors/contestants on their community service projects to understand the importance of Community Service and help prepare them for participation in Teen Program, should they ever decide to participate. This is an informal process between the Mentor and the Princess. We encourage each Princess to do one “community service” act of kindness together.
Princess Community Service Project
In support of MCCSO’s partnership with Lions International we ask that each Princess bring at least one pair of “loved” glasses (date to be published) to make a donation to the Lions Club.
The Gift of Gratitude
The gift of gratitude is often overlooked in the world we live in today. The Miss America Program encourages the young women who participate to continually be aware that gratitude will serve them well beyond their years as a contestant or titleholder. We would like to pass this tradition on to the Princesses.
The Gratitude Journal
Each Princess and her mentor will keep a “Gratitude Journal”. We suggest that each day, the Princess and her mentor, write down one thing every day that they are grateful for.
We will include “Gratitude Sharing” sessions throughout the program during workshops and rehearsals. The Princesses are encouraged to bring their journals to each function in preparation for sharing. It is our hope that each young lady will learn to look for the good in life and will develop the “art of appreciation”.
